PlayerFocus is becoming Vimasu

We’re growing — new sports, new regions, and a bolder name to carry it all. Same team you trust, a bigger mission: see every athlete.

Same mission, a bigger name

We started with one belief: a young athlete’s development should be seen, remembered, and built on— never lost between coaches, seasons, or clubs. That belief hasn’t changed. We have.

We began in soccer — but what we built was never about one sport. The goal, to see and grow every athlete, is universal: soccer, basketball, hockey, baseball, football, and beyond. What was once just player evaluations is now the operating system clubs run their whole program on — evaluations, communication, registration, payments, recruiting — across more sports and more regions every season. PlayerFocus got us here; Vimasuis where we’re going.

What Vimasu means

Vimasu comes from vis — to see — and vim — drive and energy. It echoes the Sanskrit vīmaṃsā, “careful examination,” and the Spanish vimos, “we saw.” To see an athlete clearly, and to fuel the drive to grow. One idea sits behind everything we build: see every athlete.

There’s one more layer we love. Read it as vim + masu — masu (枡), the traditional Japanese box used to measure. Together, energy, measured — which is exactly the work: taking the raw drive of an athlete and making it visible, honest, and yours to build on.

Everything you love, still here

A new name, not a new company. The same team, the same product, the same login, the same pricing — and every player’s full development history right where you left it. The only thing changing is how far we can take it.

What it means for you

For directors — the development record, oversight, and operations you rely on stay exactly where they are. You simply get a brand built to grow alongside your club.

For coaches — your workflow is untouched. Same fast capture, same player pages, same evaluations. Only the name on the door changes.

For players and families — your story, your progress, your reports, your history — all still here, all still yours. Just under a new name.

The road to Vimasu

  1. Now — Meet Vimasu

    You are here

    We’ve shared the new name. You’ll start seeing “PlayerFocus is becoming Vimasu” around the app — nothing changes yet.

  2. The transition — both names, side by side

    Over the coming weeks you’ll see “Vimasu (formerly PlayerFocus)” across the product and our emails. Your login, your data, and your players’ full history stay exactly as they are.

  3. August 2026 — Vimasu goes live

    The new name, look, and home — vimasu.com — go live. Your account and everything in it carries over automatically. Nothing for you to do, and no downtime.

  4. Following weeks — our emails move over

    Emails will gradually arrive from vimasu.com addresses instead of playerfocus.ca. Same senders, same content — if you see the new address, it’s really us.

  5. Fall 2026 — the app gets its new address

    The app itself moves to app.vimasu.com. You’ll sign in again once — that’s it. We’ll announce the exact day well in advance.

  6. Old links keep working — forever

    playerfocus.ca and every link, QR code, or bookmark you’ve ever shared keep working and point to Vimasu — nothing to update, nothing lost.

  7. Fully Vimasu

    One brand, every sport, every region. See every athlete.

Good to know:if you added the app to your iPhone home screen, the old PlayerFocus icon may stick around for a while — that’s just how iPhones handle saved icons. It’s still us, everything inside is Vimasu, and the icon updates whenever you re-add it. On Android it updates by itself.
